In 2011 the City processed 15% more permits through our automated permitting system, indicating a resurgence of construction growth in Boston.  This visual shows the different types of work associated with each permit application.

Last year the City received over 150,000 requests for service via phone, e-mail, text, and smart phone applications.  Each request is a critical opportunity to make our city cleaner, safer, and more vibrant.  Therefore, we track each request against a delivery goal time to make sure we are providing timely and effective services.

At over 100,000 dispatches, community policing “walk and talks” were by far the most commonplace code heard on BPD radios last year.
